Team Building Workshop

One-day Team Building Session Combining Classroom
and Outdoor 'Treetops' Activity

How do you improve your business?

Increase turnover, reduce costs..........
or work together?

Would you like your staff to work like a Formula One race team?
The best example of a team: everyone has a role, they all work together, no politics, a united goal and peer support.

Seems simple!

All businesses need to work as a team – and whilst a team is a group of people, a group is not necessarily a team.
A team is a group of people working together towards a common goal.

That being so, 'team building' is the process of enabling that group of people to reach their goal. It is therefore a management issue to ensure the team members understand the common goal, and have the will and ability to achieve it. Business needs to move quickly, but things can go wrong when done in haste. Teamwork shares the load and reduces the problems as “many hands make light work”. A team does not need to be large - it can be two people - but the interpersonal dynamics are just as important.

  Why have Team Building off-site?

When learning, everyone has a need to focus, question and reflect. In the work environment there are interruptions - “this will only take a minute” - a busy diary and a conscience. Furthermore, the workshop gives your team the opportunity to apply team theory in a practical environment.

Delegates will learn more about themselves, more about working with others and will never forget the day.

Workshop Schedule

The morning session is classroom based and after lunch there are three hours of practical exercises, 40 feet up amidst the trees within the beautiful forested grounds at Scalford Hall near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

Starting at 09:00, the group will meet and start with an icebreaker; this is followed by a series of team building exercises, including role-play, supported by theories relating to issues encountered. There will be the opportunity for delegates to share experiences and problems - such as conflict management - in the confines of the group within a controlled, supportive environment.

A choice of a two-course lunch or lighter buffet is included prior to the afternoon activity, with ample time to talk openly whilst digesting the food and knowledge.

The afternoon session is outside, in any weather other than strong wind speeds, snow, ice and thunder and lightning… so delegates are advised to bring appropriate clothing, a towel and maybe a change of clothing if the weather is inclement.

Before you head out onto the course, you will be given a safety briefing by a qualified instructor. Here you will try out the obstacles at low levels, and get to grips with the equipment. It is not complicated, but safety is paramount and it will give you the confidence to enjoy your time up in the trees.

There are then five high level exercises to test theory, team strength and nerves. Including: Crate Stack, All Aboard, Scales of Justice, Leap of Faith and Jacob’s Ladder.

The day concludes with a Review and Reflect session to highlight what has been learnt individually and as a team.

The fee is £185.00 plus VAT per person, including lunch and refreshments.
